In February of each year thousands of K-3 children across the state in the SMART reading program read five SMART Book Award nominated books and vote for their favorite. Nominees are selected by SMART site coordinators and staff, and voting is conducted by secret ballot. The results are revealed at an awards ceremony in Portland, Ore, in March.
Check back in March to see which book will be crowned the 2011 SMART Book Award.
